Jim co-founded Princeton Equity Group, co-leads its investment activities, and sits on the Firm’s investment committee. Prior to co-founding Princeton, Jim spent nearly 20 years as a private equity investor at Summit Partners, ABS Capital, and our predecessor firm, Princeton Ventures (which he founded in 2006). Jim’s current investments include Strickland Brothers, Card My Yard, medspa810, The CORE Institute, Radiance Holdings (the parent company of Sola Salon Studios and Woodhouse Day Spa), and Stellar Brands (the parent company of Restoration 1, Bluefrog Plumbing + Drain, The Driveway Company, and Softroc). His previous investment experience includes Massage Envy (acquired by Roark Capital) and European Wax Center (acquired by General Atlantic). Jim holds a B.S. in Economics and Politics from Washington & Lee University where he was a George Washington Scholar.
Douglas L. Kennealey

Doug co-founded Princeton Equity Group, co-leads its investment activities, and sits on the Firm’s investment committee. Prior to co-founding Princeton, Doug spent nearly 20 years as a private equity investor at Summit Partners, Silver Lake, Brazos, and MPK Equity Partners (which he co-founded in 2015). In addition, Doug has been a Senior Advisor at Princeton Ventures, our predecessor firm, since its inception in 2006. Doug sits on the boards of Card My Yard, Strickland Brothers, Urban Air, Radiance Holdings (the parent company of Sola Salon Studios and Woodhouse Day Spa), and Stellar Brands (the parent company of Restoration 1, Bluefrog Plumbing + Drain, The Driveway Company, and Softroc). His previous board and investment experience includes European Wax Center (acquired by General Atlantic), Vision Source (acquired by Essilor), and Smile Source. Doug holds a B.A., magna cum laude, in Theology and Economics from Boston College and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
Robert A. Finn
Rob joined our predecessor firm, Princeton Ventures, in 2014 and leads the management of Princeton’s proprietary platform, FusionPointTM. Prior to joining Princeton, Rob was at Edison Partners, a growth equity firm. At Edison, he originated nine investments and was a member of the investment committee where he co-led an additional twelve investments. Rob holds a B.S in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Philip A. Piro
Phil joined our predecessor firm, Princeton Ventures, in 2018 and focuses on sourcing and executing transactions for Princeton. He also provides operating support to our portfolio companies and has served as the President and COO of medspa810. Prior to joining Princeton, Phil served as the COO of Brad’s Raw Chips, where he managed the company’s supply chain and manufacturing facility and successfully executed numerous operational improvements and strategic priorities. Before Brad’s, Phil launched and managed a beverage business called Captains Neck Brands. Phil began his career at Deutsche Bank and Citigroup. Phil holds a B.A. in Economics and Middle East Studies from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
Jack joined Princeton in 2021 and focuses on sourcing and executing transactions. He also provides operating support to our portfolio companies. Prior to Princeton, Jack was at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors working on special situations transactions. Before Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, Jack was at J.F. Lehman & Company executing investments in the aerospace & defense and industrial services sectors. Jack began his career as an analyst at Morgan Stanley in the Financial Sponsors and Western Region Coverage groups. Jack holds a B.S. in Management Science & Engineering with a focus in Financial Engineering & Decision Analysis from Stanford University.
Joseph joined Princeton in 2021 and focuses on sourcing and executing transactions. He also provides operating support to our portfolio companies. Prior to Princeton, Joseph was an Associate and Senior Associate at Trive Capital where he executed transactions in the industrial, aerospace & defense, and telecom sectors. Prior to joining Trive, Joseph was an Associate at Elm Park Capital Management and an Associate and Analyst at J.P. Morgan Chase. Joseph holds a B.B.A. in Finance (Business Honors) from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Ryan joined Princeton in 2021 and leads all business development activities, including developing relationships with intermediaries, independent sponsors, and entrepreneurs. Prior to Princeton, Ryan was a Senior Associate at Gauge Capital. Earlier in his career, Ryan was an Associate at Lone Star Funds. Ryan holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ryan joined Princeton in 2020 and focuses on executing transactions and providing support for portfolio company initiatives. Prior to Princeton, Ryan was an Associate at American Infrastructure Funds and an Analyst in Morgan Stanley’s Natural Resources Group. Ryan holds a B.B.A. in Finance with Highest Honors from the University of Texas at Austin where he was the recipient of the Herbert F. Poyner, Jr. Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Business.
Grant joined Princeton in 2020 and focuses on executing transactions and providing support for portfolio company initiatives. Prior to joining Princeton, Grant spent two years at Greenhill & Co. in their Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Previously, he was an investment banking analyst at Aeris Partners where he focused on M&A advisory for software and SaaS businesses. Grant holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University.
Samantha is responsible for overseeing the firm’s offices and supporting the team. Prior to Princeton she has held marketing and administrative roles at a family office, a retailer, and a medical device company. Samantha has a B.S. in Marketing from Berkeley College.
Dave has over 25 years of experience leading and growing multi-unit consumer, retail and franchise brands. Dave served as President and CEO of Massage Envy and for 12 years led the brand to exponential profitable growth, opening more than 1,100 successful locations with over $1B in annual system-wide revenues. After retiring from Massage Envy in April 2016, he founded PROSE, a category-redefining hand and foot wellness brand. Today, he most enjoys working with growth companies and their people to help them prosper.
